Invest India supported Osaka Gas in evaluating India's renewable energy landscape by providing market intelligence, policy guidance and strategic facilitation for its proposed investment. The team shared insights on the country's renewable energy ecosystem, emerging market trends, government tender opportunities and the growing commercial and industrial (C&I) segment to help the company assess the investment potential. Invest India facilitated discussions with key central agencies to clarify regulatory queries related to Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Open Access (OA) regulations, Deviation Settlement Mechanism (DSM) and Power Exchange (PX) liquidity.

To assist the company's market entry strategy, Invest India shared a non-exhaustive list of potential Indian Independent Power Producers (IPPs) for evaluating strategic partnerships and joint venture opportunities. Additionally, the team facilitated engagements with key stakeholders, including MNRE, the Ministry of Power, CEA, CERC, PTC, and KREDA. These efforts supported the formation of Clean Max Osaka Gas Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture established to develop an initial 300 MW renewable energy portfolio, with plans to scale capacity to 400 MW across solar and wind projects.
